From Our 2017 College Captains..........

It is such a privilege to have been elected as the College Captain for Nazareth for 2017, the year of the college’s 10 Year Anniversary. We look forwards to working with our peers, teachers, leaders and the rest of Nazareth Community in the year to come. Being a part of the leadership team at Nazareth over the years has provided the both of us with countless opportunities to actively involve ourselves in the college and we look forward to continuing to do so in our final year of schooling.

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”

The both of us have been influenced by the great leaders Nazareth has had in the past few years. They have inspired us to exemplify the Nazareth spirit, the 5 habits of excellence and to be dedicated and hardworking leaders. We have been immersed in the amazing Nazareth Community for a number of years now and this opportunity has provided us with the experience and growth to become the leaders of such a fine college. As College Captains ‘we aspire to be more’ in the community in which we lead.

Leadership at Nazareth has taught us the importance of developing a strong connection with the community in which we work in. Our positions have enabled us to acquire integral skills and values which can be implemented in our future beyond Nazareth Catholic College.

The Student Leadership program at Nazareth provides opportunities for students to engage with the school community as well as the wider community.

The aims of the Student Leadership program at Nazareth Catholic College are to:

  • Provide a forum in which all Secondary students can be represented to the Secondary Principal and other College Leaders
  • Conduct and participate in activities which support the ethos of the College and promote wellbeing of students within the College
  • Develop students’ confidence and skills in communicating with others, working as effective teams, and negotiating and collaborating with other students and staff.

These aims are achieved under the philosophy that leaders are those who serve others.

The Student Leadership is comprised of students from Years 8 to 12. Leaders in Years 11 and 12 form the Student Leadership Executive.
