The celebration was the culmination on their inquiry into campfires, which came about when a group of children created a pretend campfire in the sandpit, which sparked an eight week inquiry project! The children recreated fire through clay, paint, dramatic dance and wire. They expressed their thinking, knowledge and theories by making the connection on how fire keeps us warm and there are many people in our wider community that don’t have a fire, let alone a bed or house. The children decided that everyone should bring a blanket along on the night to donate to charity to keep everyone in Adelaide warm. This last eight weeks of work was also celebrated with a sausage sizzle and singing around the campfire. What a wonderful night we all had together, keeping warm on a cold winters night!
