Students are provided with a wide range of opportunities for 'real world' learning, community building activities and celebrations. Excursions and incursions may include disco's, Walkathon, Bicycle education, Federation Day, attending Clipsal 500, talent shows, Indigenous education, cultural days and overnight camps.
One of the important aims of learning Italian at Nazareth is to enhance and broaden our student's cultural understanding and help them appreciate the beliefs and values of the culturally diverse nation in which they work and live. Our students are exposed to enriching and stimulated learning experiences such as celebrating the annual colourful spectacular Carnevale showcasing wonderful costumes, masked parade and 'Ferrari' races.
Sport and recreation pursuits and skills are integrated into our daily curriculum at Nazareth. Each class participates in daily fitness in addition to weekly Physical Education classes. In addition to this there are a number of programs across the year levels including swimming (Reception to Year 4), aquatics (Year 5), Walkathon (all students), Sports Day (all students).
In addition to curriculum based sport and recreation, Nazareth have a co-curricular sports program.
Our music programs at Nazareth aim to provide music education of the highest quality. With a balance of traditional musical concepts and innovative musical experience, we instill in our students the relevance of music education in our society.
Primary students in year 5 learn an instrument as part of our integrated music education program. Primary students also have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of ensembles and bands. Discover more about our College Music Program.
Students can cultivate their appreciation for theatre, dance, film, music and visual arts through our extensive and varied arts program. Tapping into their creativity, our students are able to discover ways to express their emotions confidently whilst demonstrating their vitality, energy and enthusiasm.
Nazareth offers specialist teachers in the areas of Dance, Drama, Music and Visual Arts. Students attend lessons in the above areas each term on a rotational basis.
Students have the opportunity to be a part of Wakakirri Eisteddfods, where in 2013, 2015 and 2018 Nazareth were State winners. Other opportunities include whole school concerts, visual arts showcases, Tournament of Minds, instrumental nights, Catholic Music Festival, Come Out Festival Parade, and the Fringe Festival Parade.
