At Nazareth we aim to develop skills that will equip students to live effectively and successfully in this changing world, and to reinforce a sense of service to others as well as achievement of personal goals. Students are guided in their decision-making and to accept greater responsibility for their own learning and actions.
Students live and learn within a supportive Catholic/ Christian community and at Nazareth, our aim is to educate the whole person; physically, intellectually, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
There are a wide range of leadership opportunities for students within our College that match an array of special interest areas as well as the more traditional student leaders, college and house captains. Leadership prospects within programs and groups such as ecology, music, social justice and sport recognise and build on the capabilities of students to develop the ability to successfully navigate their way into the wider world. Student leadership and development is not entirely based on student selection but on our student’s inherent desires, interests and commitment.
The aims of the Student Leadership program at Nazareth Catholic Community are to:
Provide a forum in which all Secondary students can be represented to the Secondary Principal and other College Leaders
Conduct and participate in activities which support the ethos of the College and promote wellbeing of students within the College
Develop students’ confidence and skills in communicating with others, working as effective teams, and negotiating and collaborating with other students and staff.
These aims are achieved under the philosophy that leaders are those who serve others.
The GaTS at Nazareth program is designed to provide a wide array of activities and opportunities for exceptional learners to develop their potential in a variety of disciplines. Consistent with the College ethos the GaTS Program seeks to include all students who are interested in extending and challenging themselves.
The following is a sample of the opportunities that are offered to our students:
Subject Based Competitions

At Nazareth, we proudly provide students with the opportunity to explore their personal interests, strengths, challenges and motivations in the form of Careers Education.
With the assistance of Careers Education and VET Coordinator, Mrs Caitlin Rayner, students have the opportunity to identify and research multiple options including further education, training and work - and are then supported to choose appropriate SACE pathways based on their future plans.
