Community Programs

Creating a faith filled community of welcome and connection is a key part of our mission to nurture family life.

Families are at the heart of our faith and learning environment. We coordinate a range of programs and initiatives to support and celebrate all members of our community.

Family Support

A range of support services are available that reflect Nazareth's commitment to nourish family life.

Family Support Workers are available for families within our community experiencing significant challenges impacting on family wellbeing. Families may be referred by Community staff, or alternatively can refer themselves.

The Nazareth Connects program is run by a compassionate caring group of volunteers offering practical support through preparing meals, providing transport or other short term help for families following the death of a loved one or just 'running on empty'.

Practical Support for families with refugee experience and newly arrived in Australia is offered by our Pastoral Coordinator.

Community Multicultural Recipe Book

Embracing our cultural diversity includes learning more about each other and our backgrounds. The Nazareth Multicultural recipe book has been developed to allow the community to share their stories and better understand each other through the power of food. Just like our Community, our recipe book is dynamic and will continue to grow. Download the Recipe Book here. If you would like to contribute a recipe, please get in touch with our Pastoral Support Worker Sr. Amelia Fatima.

Healthy Food Supply and Nutrition Procedures

Nazareth Catholic Community values the supply of healthy food and nutrition. These procedures assist in creating a health-promoting environment where food and beverages are in accordance with the best practice guidelines for health, as childhood and adolescence are important times for establishing life-long, healthy eating habits. Click here to read our Healthy Food Fundraising Guide.

Healthy Reward Practices

The use of praise and rewards can be a good way to manage children’s behaviour. Rewarding children can increase their motivation for positive
behaviours. Food is sometimes used as a way to reward children, reinforce positive behaviour and achievements. Click the links below to read about these practices in the home environment and school environment.
