Wellbeing

Knowing your child.

At Nazareth, we are committed to the education and wellbeing of all community members in all dimensions of life. Our school may be large in numbers, but we ensure that all students feel a strong sense of belonging.

“I have called you by name” (Isaiah 43:1)

Nazareth prides itself on knowing all our children and families deeply through its extensive case management model, early and primary years neighbourhoods and mentor groups. These models promote meaningful connections and ongoing relationships, providing a ‘wrap-around service’ where every family is supported by a key member of staff who is mindful of your child’s learning and wellbeing.

Feeling valued and connected.

For the duration of their time at Nazareth, all students, families and staff belong to one of five Houses named after our Patrons: Catherine, Dominic, MacKillop, McAuley and Romero. Houses provide a welcoming, nurturing, safe and consistent environment for pastoral care. We aim for each person to experience a sense of spirit, belonging and identity and develop significant relationships within these smaller groups in our community.

We are cultivating a culture of care.

Our approach to well-being is holistic and underpins all learning and activities. A dedicated Wellbeing Program is coordinated and delivered across the campuses. Like the academic curriculum, our comprehensive Wellbeing Program is guided by Catholic values and built with thoughtful and intentional frameworks. These programs explore a culture of care, justice, and respect while providing challenging opportunities for individual growth and development.

Happy, healthy, and successful

A highly experienced and dedicated team of Psychologists, Counsellors, Family Support Workers, Pastoral coordinators and Chaplains are employed to ensure all students and their families receive the support they need to be happy, healthy, and successful.

Key partnerships with Flinders University and the University of South Australia allow clinical student placements to be undertaken across campuses. As part of this partnership, our students, staff, and families can access Speech Pathology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy programs and dental and optical health providers.
