Starting in the primary years, music becomes an integral part of every student’s experience at Nazareth – whether it’s through participating in the curriculum, joining a choir or ensemble, or taking instrumental lessons.
With a perfect blend of traditional techniques and modern musical experiences, we aim to instil in our students a deep appreciation for the art of music and its significance in our world.
Our professionally directed music program not only promotes individual knowledge and skill development but also fosters students’ social growth. We provide excellent facilities that actively support our impressive music curriculum, which includes practical, technological, and theoretical studies. From writing and creating music to understanding musical styles and enhancing performance skills, our students receive a well-rounded education in music.
Our fast-growing music culture has facilitated a huge range of extra-curricular ensembles – from polished choirs, concert bands, stage bands, and liturgical ensembles to rock bands, drum corps, and funky a cappella groups.
In addition to our talented and passionate music teachers (many of whom are also actively performing musicians), students have access to specialist instrumental tutors, with private lessons available for a variety of instruments.
Music events are frequent highlights on our college calendar, providing ample opportunity for students to showcase their skills. Off-campus, we also offer numerous opportunities to perform at various venues and events, including The Gov, Catholic Schools Music Festival, Balaklava, and Generations in Jazz.
Instrumental tuition lessons are open to all students and can be arranged through our music office. Lessons are mostly conducted during school hours on a rotating basis. The forms and documents below detail many aspects of the music program, including instrumental tuition program fees and enrolment.
