📆Term 4 2026 music calendar

• The Term 4 Music Calendar is linked HERE. Please take some time to read through and take note of important dates. Some significant dates to note include:

🎵2027 Specialist Ensemble Audition Outcomes

• Congratulations to all students who auditioned for our specialist ensembles this week. We were incredibly impressed by the high standard of musicianship, preparation and commitment on display. With more students auditioning than ever before, and at an exceptionally high level, selecting ensembles was a challenging process.
• Please refer to your email for your audition outcome. If you were unsuccessful in your audition and would like feedback, please feel free to get in touch next week.
• Students who have been offered places in Stage Band 1, Stage Band 2, Jazz Combo, and Vocal Jazz 1 should note that rehearsals begin in week 4!

🎹2027 Co-curricular Music Nominations

• Nominations for 2027 Co-curricular Music will open Friday, 30 October at 3:30pm for students currently in Years 7–11.
• For 2027, all Co-curricular Music nominations will be completed through Clipboard Activity Selection. Students are required to complete the relevant Activity Selection in Clipboard to nominate for the music opportunities they would like to participate in next year.

  • We ask students and families to:
  • Read the 2027 Co-curricular Music Handbook for important information about the music opportunities available in 2027, participation expectations, fees, requirements and other key information.
  • Ensure you can log in to the Clipboard School Portal.
• Complete your Co-curricular Music Activity Selection in Clipboard.
  • As this is a new nomination process for Co-curricular Music, the following guides are available to support students and families:

• Nominations close Friday 20 November. Please ensure your selection is completed before the closing date.

🎤🎄Sing for the Season

• On Thursday November 12th (Week 5, Term 4) the Music department will be holding a Christmas choral concert – Sing for the Season!
• Please join us for a traditional and intimate evening held in the Seaton Christian Family Centre
• The concert will feature the Junior Primary Choir, 3-4 Choir, CSMF Choir, Senior College Choir, Vocal Jazz 1, 2 and 3, Yr 6 Handchimes, Senior Flute Ensemble and the Flinders Park & Findon String Ensembles.
• Tickets are $20 for Adults and $14 for Concession and can be purchased by clicking on the link: R-12 | Sing for the Season 2026

🎵✨Twilight Concert

• Families are warmly invited to attend the annual Music Twilight Concert on Thursday 19 November 2026 (Week 6, Term 4) at the St Sebastian Centre (Gym), Flinders Park Campus.
• The concert will run from 4:30pm to 5:45pm, followed by the Music Breakup, Farewells and Awards until 6:30pm.
• Entry is free, and students are encouraged to stay for the full event.
• The concert will showcase students from Intermediate Concert Band, Intermediate Flute Ensemble, Stage Band 3, Year 8-10 Music classes, Year 7 and 8 Rock Bands, and Year 8 Music Academy classes

🎺JazzSA Superband Auditions

• Applications are now open for the JazzSA Youth Superband Auditions for 2027, providing talented young jazz musicians with the opportunity to perform and learn alongside some of South Australia’s leading emerging performers.
• Students interested in auditioning can find full details about the program, audition requirements, scholarship opportunities, and an upcoming Open Rehearsal on 10 November at the University of Adelaide via the JazzSA website
• Excitingly, JazzSA is planning to expand its jazz program in 2027 with the addition of a fourth big band, creating even more opportunities for students to develop their skills and passion for jazz music.

🎓Student Achievement Spotlight

• Congratulations to Grace Dolman on her outstanding Year 12 Activating Identities and Futures (AIF) project, Learning to Lead the Band. Throughout Term 3, Grace worked closely with Stage Band 3, researching and developing practical strategies for aspiring big band conductors. Her project highlights that conducting confidence is a skill that can be learned and developed, while providing an accessible guide for students interested in ensemble leadership. Instrumental Hire Forms

Instrumental tuition lessons are open to all students and can be arranged through our music office. Lessons are mostly conducted during school hours on a rotating basis.  The forms and documents below detail many aspects of the music program, including instrumental tuition program fees and enrolment.
