Thank you to all students and families who submitted nominations for Term 4 summer sport. We have received your emails and are now working through team selections and training schedules.
We appreciate your patience while everything is organised. Further information, including team selections and training details, will be shared with families later this term.
We look forward to another fantastic season of summer sport.
The Grand Final started evenly, with both teams looking to control possession. Rostrevor began creating more attacking opportunities and produced a few good combinations in the final third.
Early in the first half, a cross into the box caused some confusion between the Nazareth defence and goalkeeper, allowing the ball to slowly find its way into the back of the net and give Rostrevor a 1–0 lead.
From that point, Nazareth started to gain more possession and control the game. Five minutes before half-time, after a great combination and a well-timed ball in behind the defence, Alex won a 50/50 against the Rostrevor defenders and delivered a square cross for Cody to tap into an empty net and make it 1–1. A perfect time to score just before half-time.
Rostrevor started the second half strongly, creating two dangerous chances that nearly resulted in a goal. Nazareth then regained control of possession and built a great team move, involving the goalkeeper, centre-back, full-back and midfielder before finding Alex on the edge of the box. Alex took a great touch and launched the ball into the top corner to make it 2–1. An outstanding team and individual goal that put Nazareth in front.
Rostrevor continued to push and regained possession in the final stages, hitting the post twice, but Nazareth defended strongly and held on until the final whistle.
Nazareth are crowned champions and finished the entire season unbeaten. An unbelievable achievement and a well-deserved win!
