connecting faith, family and education.
Representing an innovative way of delivering Catholic Education to new heights, Nazareth has experienced unprecedented growth and demand for enrolment – progressing to be one of the largest leading Catholic organisations in South Australia, now servicing over 2,000 families.
A vibrant community spanning across several campuses in Adelaide’s western suburbs, Nazareth provides a complete ECC – Year 12 co-educational learning and care experience.
Inspired by Jesus of Nazareth and our patrons, we are people of justice, each committed to building community, nourishing family life and making the world a better place.
“We provide a safe, hope-filled, and encouraging environment based on respect, positive relationships, justice, care and compassion. In such an environment, our students thrive and flourish.”
– Brian Schumacher, Principal
…it’s how we do everything at Nazareth.
Chosen initially by the founding orders for Siena College, the motto’s words are from the Eucharistic Prayer said each time at Mass.
As we move forward ‘In Joyful Hope’, our wish for our young people does not change – it’s that they will continue to live lives of ‘Joyful Hope’, in close connection with God.
In 2006, a transformative moment occurred in the western suburbs of Adelaide as Siena College, Our Lady of the Manger School, Cardinia Catholic School, and Mater Christi School merged to create Nazareth Catholic College. This amalgamation marked a new chapter of opportunity for families in the area. Under inaugural Director Michael Dahl’s leadership in 2007, the newly named Nazareth welcomed students from Reception to Year 12 at the Findon Campus. Recognising the need for growth, Nazareth underwent significant construction and development in 2008, with the Flinders Park Campus opening its doors to students in Years 8-12.
In 2011, a significant milestone was reached as the first co-educational cohort of Year 12 students graduated from Nazareth. The Findon Campus saw the completion of a multipurpose hall and gym facility, while Flinders Park gained a music centre and additional classrooms.
2017 marked the 10th anniversary of Nazareth, a moment celebrated by naming all buildings on both campuses to honour the college’s history, faith, and patron saints.
Continuing its expansion, Nazareth introduced Year 7 students to the Flinders Park Campus in 2019. A major development took place with the opening of the state-of-the-art Caritas Building, setting a new standard for impressive facilities. In 2020, property was acquired in Underdale to provide an adult learning environment for Nazareth Year 12 students.
The journey reached a pivotal moment in 2021 as the first cohort of Year 12 students graduated from the St Gabriel Centre, located in Underdale. At the same time, land was purchased in Kidman Park, where Nazareth would establish its new permanent home for the senior years’ education. Now, in 2023, the brand-new Kidman Park Campus construction is complete, ready to welcome students in Years 10-12 and set the stage for an exciting future for Nazareth Catholic College.
