Grease is the Word! 7-12 Co-Curricular Musical

Nazareth is still buzzing with excitement after the weekend’s sold-out performances of the inaugural 7-12 Co-Curricular musical Grease.

From the moment the curtains opened to the final bow, this musical production transported the audience back to the 1950s with its catchy songs, memorable characters, and timeless themes of identity, friendship, and love.

The young ensemble of performers, designers, and stage crew loved immersing themselves in the world of Rydell High School, exploring the characters, fashion, music, and style of the 1950s throughout the rehearsal period. The musical provided a wonderful opportunity for creative collaboration, bringing together the talents and dedication of our incredible cast and crew.

“Everyone had to push themselves and develop new skills in the production process, and I am immensely proud of the hard work and growth I witnessed throughout rehearsals,” expressed R-12 Performing Arts Coordinator and Musical Director Mrs Anita Wallace.

“I am incredibly grateful to everyone involved in bringing this production to life. The cast is to be commended for their commitment, energy, and the amazing talent that they invested in the show in both rehearsals and the final performances. Thank you also to the production team for their tireless efforts behind the scenes, ensuring that every element of the production was seamless and captivating,” she continued.

“On behalf of the cast and crew, I would like to thank everyone who supported the musical by volunteering to undertake roles or by participating as an audience member. The success of our production of Grease would not have been possible without the support of our school community. From parents and teachers to fellow students and friends, the encouragement and enthusiasm bolstered our cast and crew throughout the entire production process,” said Anita.

As the final curtain fell, the resounding applause from the audience was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion that went into bringing Grease to life on stage. Although the musical transported us to Rydell High for just a few hours, the memories and friendships forged during this production will undoubtedly last a lifetime.
