Term 2 ended on a high note for Nazareth Eco Warriors as they embarked on a student leadership sustainability bus tour. The tour, organized by Green Adelaide, provided a platform for young environment stewards to collaborate, exchange ideas and increase sustainable practices in schools.
The Nazareth Eco Warrior group is an extension of the Primary Years’ Eco Chief group and consists of students from Years 7-9.
The day-long event included stops at Blair Athol North B-6 School and Athelstone Primary School, where students had the opportunity to hear from inspiring teachers and leaders passionate about sustainability. Each school shared valuable insights into their impressive initiatives and their impact on their local environment, as well as advice on raising awareness among students and implementing eco-conscious practices into the Australian Curriculum.
The tour left Nazareth Eco Warriors brimming with ideas and inspired to drive their Living Laudato Si Goals forward. The connections made with like-minded students from other schools were also an invaluable part of the experience, encouraging a sense of solidarity in their shared commitment and calling to care for God’s creation.
Thank you to Josh King, Sam Anderson and Darren Stevenson from Blair Athol North B-6, David Deboer and Gyllian Godfrey from Athlestone Primary School, and Green Adelaide for their instrumental roles in organising and making the student leadership sustainability bus tour a success.
