On Sunday 24 November 2024, we joined the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish: Hindmarsh – Findon to celebrate the centenary of the Sacred Heart Church at Hindmarsh.
A symbol of hope and community standing for over 100 years – this church has been a cornerstone in the lives of so many families, providing a space for worship, celebration, and connection. Generations have gathered here for baptisms, weddings, first communions, funerals, and sacred festivities – marking significant moments in life’s journey.
Sunday’s event included a celebration of the church’s history, a legacy that Nazareth is proud to be a part of. Education has always been integral to the Sacred Heart Parish, with Nazareth as one of many schools connected to the Parish mission. Many Nazareth families also share connections with the Parish through Youth Ministry, the Preca Community, and outreach initiatives like St Vincent de Paul.
It was a privilege for our staff and leaders to attend the celebration alongside Archbishop Patrick O’Regan, past and present Parish Priests, and other honoured guests. We are grateful to be part of the Sacred Heart Parish community and look forward to continuing its legacy of faith, education, and service.
