🎓Congratulations to our 2025 Graduates!

We are both proud and a little sad to see our Year 12 Music students complete their final week at school. While we’ll still enjoy their presence at a few upcoming music events and rehearsals, we’ll certainly miss having them around day to day.

We wish each of you the very best as you complete your exams, final assessments, and prepare for the exciting next chapter ahead. Congratulations on all you’ve achieved! 🎶

🎺Specialist Ensemble Auditions

We are excited to be holding auditions this week for 2026 Specialist Ensembles: Senior Flute Ensemble, Vocal Jazz, and Stage Bands.

Auditions are a valuable opportunity for students to showcase their talents and ensure they are placed in an ensemble where they can thrive and grow as musicians.

*Students, please check your emails from the past weeks. Many audition times have been moved to accommodate students at different campuses. You received an email this week advising you of your day and campus for the audition. If your time was changed, you were emailed.

• Monday 27th October – Stage Band 1, 2 & 3 (Flinders Park Campus)
• Tuesday 28th October – Stage Band (morning at FP, then moving to KP) & Vocal Jazz (afternoon) (Kidman Park Campus)
• Wednesday 29th October– Vocal Jazz (mixed vocal choir) (Flinders Park Campus)
• Thursday 30th October– Flute Auditions (Flinders Park Campus)

🎤🎄Sing For The Season- Thursday Week 5, 13th of November

• Save the date for Sing For The Season, our annual Christmas Choral Concert, involving all choral groups from R-12, year 8 and 9 curriculum music students, string groups, and the Senior Flute Ensemble.

🎺JazzSA Superband Auditions Open Now!

• Are you a budding jazz musician aged 14-25 who loves playing in Stage Band? Here’s an exciting opportunity you won’t want to miss: JazzSA’s Youth Superband Auditions are now open!

• The JazzSA Superbands bring together students from all across South Australia to rehearse and play big band music. The level of these bands are similar and above our Nazareth Stage Band 1, so provide a great challenge and extension to our enthusiastic jazz musicians.

• 🗓 Key Dates & Details
  • Applications open: Friday, 11 October 2024
  • Applications close: Sunday, 1 December 2024
  • Auditions are video submissions only
  • Audition fee: $20 (this covers any number of instruments you submit for)

• 🎼 What You’ll Need to Submit
  You’ll be asked to record and submit performances of specific excerpts according to your instrument, which can be found on the JazzSA Website.

🎹Primary Instrumental Concerts

• We’re excited to celebrate the talents of our budding musicians at the Nazareth Findon Primary Instrumental Concerts, held in Week 4 of Term 4.
• These concerts are a wonderful opportunity for students to share what they’ve been learning with family and friends. Performances will take place across three venues — the Gym, Band Room, and CCC — on Tuesday 4 November and Thursday 6 November from 5:30pm.
• Families are encouraged to check the letter emailed home for performance details and to contact their child’s instrumental tutor to help them prepare.
• We look forward to an enjoyable celebration of music and student achievement!

Instrumental Hire Forms

Instrumental tuition lessons are open to all students and can be arranged through our music office. Lessons are mostly conducted during school hours on a rotating basis.  The forms and documents below detail many aspects of the music program, including instrumental tuition program fees and enrolment.
