Nazareth students have reason to celebrate, with several claiming victories in recent National competitions across various fields.
Year 12 student Tayte Ryan’s hard work and dedication to cycling has paid off, with his impressive performance at the National Championships leading to his selection to represent Australia at the 2023 Union Cycliste Internationale Junior Track Cycling World Championships. Taking place this month in Columbia, Tayte will compete at the highest level, representing Australia with pride. Good luck Tayte!
Year 10 students Hudson Hynes and Jordan Aldridge, both members of the U16 Boys National Championship team, showcased their exceptional basketball skills in the Australian Junior Classics held in Perth in July. The tournament provided a platform for young basketball talents to demonstrate their abilities, and the boys did not disappoint. They contributed significantly to the team’s overall performance, earning a commendable 6th place out of 12 teams.
Antonia and Alexia Aristidis, showcased their artistry on wheels at the National Artistic Roller Skating Championships in Perth last month. With dazzling performances, Antonia secured a remarkable 1st place, while Alexia demonstrated her talent by earning a well-deserved 3rd place. Their exceptional achievements have now earned them the privilege of representing Australia at the upcoming Oceania Championships in August.
Several Nazareth students proudly represented South Australia at the Australian Calisthenics Federation Championship in Brisbane. Among them, Isabella Siciliano (Year 8), Lisa Kuu (Year 7), Rutundo Makusha (Year 7) and Ruby Knapp (Year 7) formed a part of the South Australian Junior National team, achieving a brilliant 2nd place, narrowly placing behind Victoria.
In the National Junior Duo Competition, Isabella and Lisa’s outstanding performance secured them 1st place, earning them the title of the best in Australia in their age group – an extraordinary achievement. Ruby also competed in the Duo Competition, performing beautifully.
Imogen Stoodly (Year 9) showcased her talents as part of the SA Intermediate National team, contributing to their strong 1st place finish. Imogen also excelled in the National Intermediate Solo Competition, claiming a well-deserved 3rd place.
