🎓🎵Farewell to our Music Class of 2026!
As our Year 12 Music students finish their final lessons and celebrate their graduation this week, we would like to congratulate them on this significant milestone and thank them for the incredible contribution they have made to our music community.
Your leadership, musicianship, dedication, and willingness to serve others have helped shape our department in countless ways. Whether in ensembles, liturgies, concerts, musicals, rehearsals, or behind the scenes, you have left a lasting impact and will be greatly missed.
While it is difficult to say goodbye, we are fortunate that many of you will remain part of our music family a little longer through our choral ensembles at Sing for the Season. We also look forward to officially celebrating and farewelling you at the Twilight Concert on 19 November.
On behalf of the entire Music Department, thank you for everything you have given to our community. We wish you every success and God’s blessings as you prepare for your final assessments and exams. We know you will approach them with the same commitment and determination that you have shown throughout your time in Music.

🎺Senior Concert Band Performance – Adelaide West Uniting Church Fair
Our Senior Concert Band has been invited to perform at the Adelaide West Uniting Church Fair on Saturday 24 October.
Students will arrive at 11:00am to tune and prepare for their performance from 11:30am-11:50am, showcasing a varied program of concert band repertoire for the local community.
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Percussion Ensemble Showcase featuring the Nazareth Primary, Intermediate and Senior Percussion Ensembles.
Performance Details
Venue: Kidman Park Campus Performing Arts Space (enter through the South Entrance near the Gym)
Date: Wednesday, Week 3 (28th of November)
Doors Open: 5:15pm
Concert Begins: 5:30pm
Estimated Finish Time: 6:15pm
Uniform: students are required to wear their Nazareth Music Performance Uniform
🎤🎄Sing for the Season
On Thursday November 12th (Week 5, Term 4) the Music department will be holding a Christmas choral concert – Sing for the Season!
Please join us for a traditional and intimate evening held in the Seaton Christian Family Centre
The concert will feature the Junior Primary Choir, 3-4 Choir, CSMF Choir, Senior College Choir, Vocal Jazz 1, 2 and 3, Yr 6 Handchimes, Senior Flute Ensemble and the Flinders Park & Findon String Ensembles.

Applications are now open for the JazzSA Youth Superband Auditions for 2027, providing talented young jazz musicians with the opportunity to perform and learn alongside some of South Australia’s leading emerging performers.
Students interested in auditioning can find full details about the program, audition requirements, scholarship opportunities, and an upcoming Open Rehearsal on 10 November at the University of Adelaide via the JazzSA website
Excitingly, JazzSA is planning to expand its jazz program in 2027 with the addition of afourth big band, creating even more opportunities for students to develop their skills and passion for jazz music.

🎓Student Achievement Spotlight
Congratulations to Grace Dolman on her outstanding Year 12 Activating Identities and Futures (AIF) project, Learning to Lead the Band. Throughout Term 3, Grace worked closely with Stage Band 3, researching and developing practical strategies for aspiring big band conductors. Her project highlights that conducting confidence is a skill that can be learned and developed, while providing an accessible guide for students interested in ensemble leadership. Instrumental tuition lessons are open to all students and can be arranged through our music office. Lessons are mostly conducted during school hours on a rotating basis.
