During Week 10, Year 11 students have the opportunity to attend Industry Spotlight Sessions and Microcredential Courses to support their subject selections for Year 12 and their future pathway planning.
Students have the option to register interest for up to two Industry Spotlight Sessions and one Microcredential. Places are limited. Where there is interest from more students than places available, a similar opportunity will be scheduled for a future date, and students will be advised.
Registrations will close Week 8, Wednesday 18 June at 2.30pm. Students will be advised about their registrations in the days following.
Industry Spotlight Sessions provide a forum for students to connect with people already working in industry, to find out about jobs, study and training pathways, and what life is really like working in this industry.
Choose your session (and one in reserve). Places are limited. Where there are more students than places available, a similar opportunity will be scheduled for the future, and students will be advised.

Microcredentials provide students with opportunities to gain industry-relevant certification and develop knowledge and skills in bite-sized pieces, without having to do a whole certificate.
Costs and enrolment paperwork are involved with these Microcredentials. By registering, you are acknowledging you wish to enrol and the Microcredential will incur a cost. If you are absent on the day or do not complete the requirements the full course cost will apply. Please note the Start and Finish times listed as these may be different to Nazareth’s usual Start and Dismissal times.

General induction training for site work.
Under Work Health and Safety legislation, workers on construction sites in Australia must undertake general induction training, or ‘White Card training’, before they are permitted to commence work or visit a construction site.
Course content includes workplace safety regulations, hazard identification and risk assessment, health and safety reporting, responding to emergencies, and use of Personal Protective Clothing (PPE).
Who: Students who may be considering a trade or apprenticeship pathway and haven’t already done Whitecard, OR students considering careers where their role requires them to visit a construction site, such as civil engineer, site manager, architect, surveyor.
Coursework: This is a VET unit accredited by a registered training organisation. There are written, oral and practical aspects.
Date: Wednesday 2 July (Week 10) at Nazareth Kidman Park Campus.
Time: 8.45am SHARP till 3.00pm.
Cost: Total $100. Nazareth will contribute 50%, so families will be charged $50.

Find work in venues providing alcohol to customers.
While those under 18 can’t serve alcohol, they can land jobs as “glassies”, wait staff, or in other support roles in pubs, restaurants, festivals and hospitality venues.
Holding a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is a legal requirement to not only serve alcohol, but also to work in any venue providing alcohol as part of its service to customers.
This course isn’t about cocktail shaking – it’s about understanding alcohol, how it affects the body, our relationships, and the community.
Course content includes standard drink sizes, legal limits, and how to spot and manage risky behaviour.
Who: Students seeking careers or casual work in hospitality and haven’t already done RSA as part of Cert III in Hospitality.
Coursework: This is a VET unit accredited by a registered training organisation. There are written, oral and practical aspects.
Date: Wednesday 2 July (Week 10) at Nazareth Kidman Park Campus.
Time: 8.30am SHARP till 3.30pm.
Cost: Total $110. Nazareth will contribute 50%, so families will be charged $55.

Financial decision-making is a core life skill.
But with constant changes to the way people make purchases, an ever-increasing number of choices, the complexity of investment options, and the rise of sophisticated scams, financial decision-making can be stressful!
Through a range of interactive resources and activities, students will explore basic financial tools and grow their knowledge about savings, compounding, scams, superannuation, insurance, and investment options like shares, cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
This course is delivered via nine online modules and a one-day practical workshop covering the following topics:
Students will also develop their own personal financial plan throughout the practical workshop.
Who: Students interested in growing their financial knowledge and skills, OR students interested in Business and Commerce courses at University.
Students must be independent, motivated AND have a genuine commitment to completing 25 hours of learning:
Coursework: This Microcredential is certified by Bond University. There are written, oral and practical aspects.
Date: Wednesday 2 July (Week 10) at Nazareth Kidman Park Campus. Online modules using the Bond Learning platform are to be completed prior to the practical workshop on 2 July. Students will have access to the Bond Learning platform from Friday 27 June.

Cost: $55 student contribution (added to school account).
