Parents and Reception students were welcomed to the Nazareth Findon Campus last week, for their penultimate ‘Loving Learning Thriving’ Transition Program session. Aiming to make the transitional period as simple and as engaging as possible for new students, Nazareth has educated both parents and students across the three week program.
During the program, students were involved in activities and tasks, enabling them to meet fellow classmates, engage in fun, literacy and numeracy activities in accordance with the current Reception curriculum, as well as learn about the campus facilities. Meanwhile, parents were farmiliarised with Nazareth's Catholic identity, innovative teaching and learning programs, community connections and various online learning and communication platforms.
Parent of new reception student, Sarah Hughes said, “Nazareth did an exceptional job of informing parents about everything you could imagine. The docuemtation provided by Nazareth was great too because it’s not only useful now, but will be in the future too.”
“My son said he had so much fun – he made friends with his teachers and he particularly loved the playground,” she said.
In three weeks, our families will return for their final introductory session. Staff will spend time with parents, by establishing Nazareth’s “community partnership mentality,” followed by an introduction for ‘what to expect on day 1.’ The sessions will be followed with a barbeque and activities.
We look forward to welcoming our new mid-year reception students at the beginning of Term 3, 2021, as they begin their journey at Nazareth.
